Vegetable Orchestra

Ten Vienna-based musicians prepare their instruments for a gig in a big venue in Berlin: Carrots, celerie, leek, Courgettes, Onions, Potatoes, Pumpkins, Tomatoes - Vegetable, that is. In their beginnings, they used to roam the local grocer's to purchase their instruments, but as the orchestra turned more professional they tend to send their local venues a detailed shopping list.
Are they all vegetarian? No. Are you supposed to play with food? Yes. Is all that supposed to be taken seriously? Definetely. The music is a fascinating mix of Jazz, Dub and Electrobeat. Their role models are Kraftwerk, Frank Zappa and John Cage. And instead of an encore there's a big pot of soup for the audience ready after the last track.
